The syllabus covers all areas of the provision of a house keeping service.

Target Participant Group
This NVQ is designed for housekeepers.

Synopsis
NVQ’s are designed to recognise a candidates competence at work by assessing and evaluating performance, candidates will work closely with a single appointed assessor to identify current knowledge and agree targets and how to achieve them.

Assessment and evaluation will normally take place at the candidate’s place of work, by means of observation, questioning and occasionally collected evidence of knowledge and competence.

For a full award, candidates must complete FOUR core units, which are:

1. Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment.
2. Contribute to effective teamwork.
3. Clean and service a range of areas.
4. Work using different chemicals and equipment.

Plus FOUR optional units which are chosen to fit in with your current work role.Candidates and employers will receive a resource pack, containing lots of useful information, regular visits from assessor, support for the employer and progress reports.
