Who Should Attend
This course is designed both for carers and senior staff, within any organisation, who care for clients which are vulnerable and may be subject to abuse, or indeed that may subject care staff to abuse.
Course Synopsis
This course will explore and extend participants knowledge about abuse, the forms that it can take, those who may be at risk, various explanations for the occurrence of Abuse and possible outcomes and response options. Participants will go on to look at their own presentation in an abusive situation, including submitting a report.
Aim
The Aim of this course is to provide participants with the opportunity to examine the wider issues of abuse to, or from Vulnerable Adults and develop prevention strategies.
ObjectivesHaving completed the course, participants will be able to
- Understand what abuse is
- Identify features of abuse and the reasons behind it.
- How to report abuse
- Identify the main legal implications.
- Explore ways to prevent abuse
The course is aimed at staff that work, or are involved with, vulnerable adults and is based on guidelines set out by the Department of Health’s No Secrets policy.
