Who Should Attend
This course is designed for care and senior staff, needing to update or gain an awareness of this topic
Course Content
This course will enable the candidates to comply with the needs of a client at the end stage of life. To have the skills and knowledge to support physically and emotionally the client, relatives and the care staff responsible for the client
Course Objectives
Having completed the course participants will be able to:
- Understand and recognise the needs of a client
- Give appropriate care to the client, regarding hygiene, eating and drinking
- Ensure the physical comfort with regard to positioning, skin care and sleep
- Identify the effects of medication
- Understand when pain relief is not effective and the correct action to take
- Recognise when support is needed emotionally
- Know when to contact relatives, give appropriate information and support.
- Care for the client, relatives and the care team after death.
Course duration
This course is completed over 6 Hours
This course provides the opportunity for learning how to care for clients. It will serve as both a refresher for experienced staff and as an introduction to those experiencing a change in their workplace
